THIS IS IT by Michael Jackson
Listen here:
My friend invited me to watch Michael Jackson’s “This is It” yesterday. And I’m glad I came. =)
I don’t know Michael Jackson. I haven’t been his follower. I’m not even in this planet yet when the King of Pop reigns the music scene. I just know the name. And his timeless songs that continuously capture the heart of every generation. Plus the last few malicious and bizarre scandals that made me doubt his identity.
I can’t remember how many times I said “Nice”, “Wow”, “Cool” aloud throughout the whole ‘the-making’ of what could have been the biggest and the grandest concert of history. It’s that good. Everything is lighted, edited and sounded like a real concert film. Dazzling, amazing, fantastic and realistic, all at the same time. But it also hurts – that the hard work of MJ and the rest of his dancers, backup singers and crew did not make it to the opening night.
I hear his voice. It brings chills to my soul. He knows when the notes are off, even if it just sounds all the same to my ears. I watch his every move with much fondness and curiosity. It feels like every shade of the melody is flowing through every modest part of his body. He is light as a feather and graceful as ever. It’s hard to believe he was 50.
He’s very hands on and detailed with the concepts. He talks softly. He treats his dancers, co-singers and all the other staff with the same respect that they give to him. He’s very patient and open-minded. He doesn’t pressure his dancers when they make mistakes. He takes his rehearsals as if it would be the last. All the people behind the curtains, watch him with much admiration and astonishment, not believing that a miracle like Michael Jackson is actually happening. He’s almost too good to believe.
Can you imagine how many little Michael Jackson he inspired? How many tears have slide down the eyes of all the people he influenced? How many countless memories accompany the tunes of his songs?
Just seeing the whole movie-documentary made me realize how loveable person he is. He deserves to be called the King of Pop. He is. And he will always be.
With all my respect and appreciation Mr. Jackson, a million thanks to you. It’s a pleasure knowing you.
Excerpts from Jacko’s Songs:
Man in the Mirror
I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change
I Just Can’t Stop Loving You
You Know How I Feel
This Thing Can’t Go Wrong
I’m So Proud To Say I Love You
Your Love’s Got Me High
I Long To Get By
This Time Is Forever Love Is The Answer
Heal the World
There’s A Place In Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
You Are Not Alone
But you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we’re far apart
You’re always in my heart
Earth Song
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine…
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we’ve shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?
Smile
If you smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile…
